ATF increases reward in firebombing
IDLEWILD, Mich. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in conjunction with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for the firebombing of a home in Idlewild.
In the early morning hours of April 27, 2017, a suspect or suspects tossed a Molotov cocktail through a bedroom window of a home in the 7600 block of Broadway Street. The device narrowly missed a 5-year-old girl who was sleeping in her bed. The family managed to escape unharmed, but their home and the contents were destroyed.
ATF is increasing its reward from up to $5,000 to up to $10,000. As part of the Arson Prevention Reward program, the Detroit Crime Commission is also offering a reward of up to $5,000, bringing the total reward up to $15,000.
