ATF and NSSF Offer Reward for Info of Gun Thefts After Hurricane Helene
Multiple firearms stolen from a business in Asheville
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a break-in at a federal firearms licensee in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
On Oct. 1, the Asheville Police Department was notified about a break-in at Carolina Guns and Gear West, located at 3106 Sweeten Creek Road. A suspect or suspects gained entrance to the business while power in most of the area was out and many buildings and roads were inaccessible. Multiple firearms and other devices were taken.
