Egg Hunts for Visually-Impaired Children with Beeping Eggs Created by ATF and IABTI
IRVINE, Calif. - The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) are donating beeping Easter eggs for visually-impaired holiday events.
Several years ago, San Diego ATF special agents and certified explosives specialists collaborated with San Diego County Sheriff’s Bomb & Arson Unit to assemble large beeping Easter eggs. ATF donates the eggs annually to Grace City Church providing an opportunity for children who are visually impaired to enjoy an Easter egg hunt.
In 2005, an ATF special agent with a blind daughter created the beeping eggs in Birmingham, Ala. Since then, various ATF offices nationwide and the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) have worked together to support Easter egg hunts with these unique eggs across the nation.
