Astor Lim is a budget analyst who recently started working at ATF’s National Academy in February 2022. Lim is a retired Army veteran and naturalized American citizen of Filipino and Chinese ancestry. His values are deeply rooted in traditions inspired by his family, friends and role models.
After retiring from the military, Lim worked as an accountant at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. He wanted to do more with his career and realized joining ATF was a natural fit because it was easy to work with numbers and instructors.
Lim feels a strong sense of patriotism and his beliefs come from being a naturalized American citizen. During AAPI month, Lim wants to remind everyone how important it is to create new leaders by opening doors to more inclusive perspectives. This includes encouraging people to be more accepting of diverse ideas, thoughts and voices in all aspects of life.
